Laura Romer Huckaby

Laura grew up in Burlington, NC. She has a B.S. in Art Education from Appalachian State University and a Master's degree in Art History from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Having a strong interest in languages as well as art, Laura took further graduate-level training in linguistics and anthropology before heading to Papua New Guinea in 2006 as a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She returned to the U.S. in 2009, married Fort Worth native David Huckaby in 2011, and moved to San Angelo where David is Professor of Mathematics at Angelo State University. She has been with SAMFA since 2012.
