Artist Biography:

O’Michael artistic aesthetic springs from the W. Texas Chihuahuan Desert, punctuated with cacti, steel oil rigs and pump jacks. She has an on-going rapport with open-spaces where objects breathe, exploring interaction of mass, space, shadow and volume through quality of line. O’Michael’s work confronts the paradox of making the complex simple.

April, 2021 O’Michael completed Flamme d’Illuminacion, four, four-story, computerized, light towers defining Arlington’s Cultural Arts District’s festival area between City Hall and Founder’s Park. The woven steel obelisks are topped with light rings and Arlington logo finials. The colored lights are programed for public events and specific holidays. These make five monumental O’Michael sculptures in the Metroplex, in addition to the eight large-scale, public art sculptures. Her sculpture currently exhibiting at the Biblical Art Museum is the sculpture from which she was selected to make Flamme d’Illuminacion, the computerized light towers on Arlington’s remodeled Abrams Street.

O’Michael Bachler of Arts degree is from University of Texas at Austin and O’Michael Masters in Fine Art is from Houston Baptist University.
